Red face Scam or not??

More and more i see people selling Unidentified Runes of Superior Vigor... they ask 50K for it (39K at trader atm). The extra K was for unlocking it for PVP. Even if this isnt considered scam then i still think it is a bad buy

Even when people able to indentify an unidentified rune, then that is something only the seller can know. In that case it is probably easy to sell any gold piece of armor as a superior rune of vigor (imo pure scam)

Is this even possible? And do we do consider this scam or not??

You can salvage a rune before identifying it. The picture will tell you what rune it is. People will pay a bit more simply to be able to unlock the rune.

Not a scam.

Superior vigor is unique so you can tell its superior vigor if its in the rune form, if it's in armor you cannot tell what it is.

Secondly people have the right bo put whatever price they want on something, whether people buy it or not is another story which will cause the drop in price anyhow.

I do believe that the Superior Vigor looks like a minor rune.

I can't remember =_=

As long as the person is actually selling a Sup. Vigor Rune, and the person buying it wants to spend that much for it, then no, it's not a scam.

And no, Sup Vigor runes don't look like minor runes. What distinguishes them from other runes is that when you salvage them out of armor before IDing them, the discription will just be "Rune" where profession specific runes will say "Monk rune" (or whatever)

Like Kook said, Vigor runes don't look like minor runes, there is a nice useful chart on Guildwiki

I'd rather buy the already identified one and then unlock it through the Priests of Balthazar..

Myself i would not pay for something thats not identified. Some people do buy unindentified items, but like Fungus Amongus said some will pay a lil more to unlock it but 50k for an unindentified rune is a bit high. The person was prolly hope to catch a noob and rip him off.

They used to do this in the early stages of GW when you hardly got any faction from winning things and it took ages to unlock. Nowadays it doesn't take that long anymore so not many people sell them unidentified anymore ( another point closer towards your wisdom title )

Is it really worth it to unlock for PvP? Faction rewards guy doesn't care whether you are unlocking a superior beast mastery or a superior vigor, it's the same price, you get 2000 points easily. I wouldn't waste PvE money on it.

When I sell an UnIDed Sup Vigor I sell it for the trader asking price. Its not worth more than that in my opinion even for the unlock. If its already IDed it should be sold for halfway between the asking and buy back price of the rune trader. Simple as that!

And I was called a scammer once, but the gal got pwned by local chat and thusly she not only appologised to me but bought the rune lol. It's an honest mistake truthfully.

Default My 2 cents

I farm ettins from time to time over the last few months...Im sure we all have at 1 point. We all know how sometimes we get an ettin hide thats blue, purple, or gold. And of course, you want to salvage it to get the rune thats there. Heres my point........whether its blue, purple or gold (WITHOUT IDENTIFYING IT) it will say mesmer, warrior, ele, etc.... But when it comes to vigor runes, blue, purple or gold, it just says RUNE on it. Thats how you can tell if its a Vigor rune, because all the other runes identify a class (before you ID it). Im sure some or most of you vets have realised this...of course

Default Thank you

This is an excellent thread and should be pinned. Even after playing for over a year I have always stayed away from UNIDED RUNES. After all that the only person who lost out was me...

I HATE THAT

Gotta love people calling others "scammers" for no good reason.

Me: WTS Parchment 60g each
Them: OMG YOU SCAMMER NUB! OLE MAN BOURBON IS A SCAMMAR!

Well buying UNID Gold Armor sets is better than buying unid runes and you sometimes have a chance of pulling a monk rune or vigor rune................... and yes most people would rather farm 1k faction then pay 11k for a rune unlock..

I've had no problems selling them for +5k the market price. Selling them for a crazy amount over that price can be mean to the ebayers.

Then again, there may be lots and lots of PvE people getting tired and wanting to break into PvP. They got tons o' cash and nothing else to spend it on? Just speculating.

But I'm with Eviance. Charge the same as buying a Sup Vig from the trader. It's no discount for the buyer, but if they were buying a Sup Vig anyway, they get a good bonus and you get a good price.

I've been called a scammer noob also, I end up showing the unID rune to people who call me this. As soon as they've seen it, they know immediately and apologize.

Reason I am not that miffed about it, is because most of these people are just attempting to look out for others, not primarily trying to harrass me.
